Montgomery Instructional Leadership Award - 2008
The Jim Montgomery Instructional Leadership Award was established in the honor of Dr. James Montgomery, former President and long-time advocate and supporter of education and Illinois ASCD. Nominations for the Leadership Award are solicited. The objective of the Leadership Award is to recognize individuals who have demonstrated leadership and influence in curriculum and instruction and how have contributed outstanding services in educational leadership. The deadline for submitting nominee applications for the 2008 Leadership Award is September 10, 2008.

Dr. Steve Cordogan was recognized at the
Curriculum Leadership Development Network meeting on October 29, 2007 as
the winner of the 2007 Winn Research Award. His research study,
Increasing Rigor in the High School Curriculum: Encouraging AP
Coursework for Students with Average Placement Test Scores—Can They
Succeed? was the submission recognized for this year’s annual
research award.

Winn Research Award - 2007
The Winn Research Award was established by the Illinois Association for Educational Research and Evaluation (IAERE) to honor outstanding Illinois educators who are engaged in research activities that made a difference in American Education. Management of the Winn bequest was transferred to the Illinois Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development in 1993. The objective of the Winn Research Award program is to promote research or classroom action research in education that results in improved learning and teaching.
