Job Vacancy: Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services

Elmhurst Academy is a private, early childhood school educating children from birth through kindergarten. Our school curriculum is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and is accredited by the NAEYC and the NECPA.
We are currently seeking a dynamic Early Childhood Teacher for our full-day Preschool Preparatory classroom of 2 and 3 year old students for the 2008-09 school year.
Responsibilities include: lesson planning and implementation following Illinois Early Learning standards and accreditation guidelines, successful classroom management, student assessments and portfolio documentation, classroom project work and documentation displays, maintaining a classroom schedule that incorporates all areas of curriculum, creating a natural classroom environment following the Reggio Emilia philosophy, as well as maximizing outdoor learning experiences using the Discovery Play Garden.
The teacher is also responsible for implementing the Multiple Intelligence theory allowing students to develop based on their individual learning style, maximize the use of technology in the classroom, maintain professional parent-teacher communication, facilitate knowledgeable Parent / Teacher Conferences and participate on two school committees.
The Preschool Preparatory classroom has three early childhood teachers, as well as an early childhood assistant teacher that facilitate a team teaching approach to maximize individualized learning.
Starting Salary: $32,500.00 ~ $36,500.00. Additional Benefit Package Included.
